Transcontinental Rum Line Guadaloupe 2014 was distilled in 2014 and aged first in the tropics until 2017 and then for almost a year in a continental climate. After reaching its ideal strength through very slow reduction, it stands out most for its mineral spirit, diverse fruits, fresh vegetal and herbaceous notes and smooth dairy character. Added to this are perfectly placed floral and spicy sequences that create even more nuance in the aromatic and gustatory palette.
Limited edition of 6290 bottles per release. Gift presentation box included.
Tasting Notes: The distinguished initial nose offers a true cornucopia of fruit (Mirabelle plum, pineapple, pear, lemon). It develops notes of cane sugar, heady florals and coconut milk. The powerful attack is vegetal and spicy. The mid-palate is jammy (Mirabelle plum), lush (sage) and roasted. The creamy finish becomes one with a very concentrated new spirit. Refreshing (menthol), it lingers with tobacco and grated ginger.
Classification: Single Blended Rum (Blend of Pot Still Traditional Column Still Distillation) Country: Guadaloupe Aged: >3 years (tropical and continental aged) Distillery: N/A ABV: 43% / 700ml
Transcontinental Rum Line Guadaloupe 2014 is part of the the new TCRL brand from LMDW. Launched in 2016, this new brand of rum has seduced lovers of barrel crude and high-end rum.
The Transcontinental Rum Line or TCRL is inspired by historic voyages of rum casks between the New World and the Old Continent (Europe). From the beginning of its production, rum has always been shipped to Europe for nautical, economical and technical reasons.
Nautical, because it permitted to avoid stagnant water consumption during long transatlantic crossings.
Economical, since the angel share is lower and the rum matures more smoothly.
Technical, because the know-how of Cognac and Scotland’s cellar masters plus the diversity of barrels allowed to create unique expressions.
For the sake of transparency, each bottling of the series displays its proportion of aging in continental climate.
