Habitation Velier Foursquare LFT White Rum is one of the newest and most exciting entries in the Habitation Velier series. Habitation Velier is a project featuring exclusive bottlings made through partnerships with some of the best rum producers in the world. The range is focused on 100% pot still rums, entirely aged in the tropics without any sugar additives and bottled at high or full proof.

Following a didactic purpose, an indication of congeners rate appears on the label. Congeners designate the whole aromatic compounds in spirits, including esters as one family of compounds. This White Foursquare is a blend of rums, each of which have been distilled in the double retort pot still of the distillery but fermented from either sugar cane or the juice of freshly milled sugar cane. The fermentation of the molasses proceeded by the addition of a single strain of cultured yeast over approximately 72 hours while the fermentation of the fresh cane juice proceeded entirely from the natural yeast contained in the substrate over several weeks. Hence the LFT in the name, which stands for “Long Fermentation Time”.

Foursquare LFT White Barbados Pure Single Rum is 100% Pot Still Distillate. Unaged and distilled back in 2021. It has a 555 gr/hLPA ester Count
and has been bottled at 62%.

Profile: Complex and heady.
Nose: Rich and aromatic. Vanilla, toffee, grassy notes, cinnamon, black pepper and varnish.
Palate: Intense and tense. Sugar cane juice, caramel, petrol and bergamot.
Finish: Long and powerful. Cocoa, cane sugar, Vindaloo and honey.

The term ‘Pure Single Rum’ defines a rum from a single distillery, distilled exclusively in pot stills. Pot still rums are more complex and typically more suitable to long ageing. The vintage Pure Single Rums are entirely aged in the tropics, ensuring a natural, accelerated aging compared to European ageing, at the expense of higher angels share.
