Bristol Spirits Ltd import premium Caribbean rum into the UK and carefully cellar them to maturity in the country. They seek out small quantities, sometimes only single barrels from a single distillery, or a single estate or even a single still to show rum in its true unblended form. There are now around 12 rums in the Bristol Classics portfolio, most of which have been aged in casks in English warehouses for between 10 and 25 years. Each is from a single still, or a single estate. Interestingly the rums exhibit a range of styles easily equal to that perceived in fine Cognacs or single malt whiskies.

Bristol Classic Port Morant 1990 Rum
1990-1999, Anniversary / Birth Year, Pure Single Rum, RumBristol Classic Port Morant 1990 Rum is one of the great Demerara rums produced with very large pot stills, which are quite unique, and still producing their special style of heavy rum, much sought after for blending in the traditional style. Bristol Spirits have selected this bottling from 1990 which has been matured for most of its life in American oak, until we transferred it to old port pipes for the last 2 years prior to bottling. Dark in colour with ruby tints the nose is full of fruit with tones of toffee and soft wood. A good weight of palate leads to sweetness and the classic Port Morant touch of aniseed. Well controlled wood enhances a long and lingering finish. An absolute superb rum enjoyed neat or with a fine cigar.
