Doorlys XO Fine Old Barbados Rum is distilled, blended and bottled by the R.L. Seale company at the Foursquare Rum Distillery on the gentle southern slopes of the St George Valley, St Philip, Barbados.
Foursquare Rum Distillery is owned by R L Seale & Co Ltd, a family business since 1926. R.L. Seale is one of Barbados’ oldest trading houses, a family-owned business whose involvement in rum making extends far back as 1820. Current head distiller, Richard L. Seale, is one of the region’s most innovative distillers and blenders and has a passion for producing amazing authentic rum with complex flavour.
The Foursquare Distillery occupies the site of a former sugar factory that dates back to 1636 and, as one of the most modern and efficient rum distilleries in the world, is designed to be both highly energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The distillery is fast becoming one of the most renowned rum distilleries in the world for both rum drinkers, aficionados and collectors alike due to their no nonsense authentic production techniques and quality output. They produce light rums in a three-column vacuum still and heavier rums in a pot still.
Doorlys XO Fine Old Barbados Rum and entire Doorly’s range are a tribute of the House of Martin Doorly, and the rum sustains the old Bajan family-owned business with one of the oldest brands produced on Barbados. The label on the Doorlys XO features an image of the grand Hyacinth Macaw – the largest macaw in the world.
