In collaboration with Cyril Isautier, La Maison & Velier had the opportunity to choose two old casks of exceptional rums: a traditional rum and an agricole rum, both distilled in 2004 and then matured, first for one year in new barrels and then 15 years in red barrels (When a barrel is called ‘RED’ – reddish colour of aged wood, it means it has reached the perfect stage of maturation for both the wood and the spirit, allowing for an ideally balanced exchange between the two).
These two Isautier rums are perfectly representative of the unique know-how, style and historical traditiona of the House.
The Agricole Rum ‘Hors d’ Age’ has been barreled in May 2005 and was aged 16 years, until November 2021. It was the last cask of the lot #16/17, the oldest Agricole rum in the Isautier cellar. This single cask yielded 536 bottles at 65%.
