Rums have been produced on the Caribbean island of Antigua for close to 350 years. These relatively light-bodied styles were originally created to satisfy discerning clientele from the British Royal Navy. Rums under the English Harbour label are today produced via copper pot distillation and maturated in small oak barrels.
Tasting note: English Harbour 5 Year Rum exhibits a bouquet that sparkles with notes of bark, oak, brown sugar, bacon fat, sautéed banana and maple. The palate entry is creamy, toffee-like and silky; the mid palate offers flavors of pastry, chocolate fudge, nougat, chestnut and honey. Finishes harmoniously with the sweet flavor gracefully melded to the texture. A perfect oak-aged molasses rum.
