John D Taylors Velvet Falernum is a very traditional liqueur made famous by John D. Taylor on the Island of Barbados in 1890, and is considered far and wide to be one of the truest to flavour Falernums on the market.

Falernum is a Caribbean sweet syrup liqueur, usually comprised of an infusion of almond, ginger, cloves, lime, and rum. It is a longtime staple item of resorts and bars in Barbados, and today for its use in Tropical, Tiki and Caribbean drinks such as the Rum Swizzle, Mai Tai, Zombie, Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and the Corn n Oil.

The John D Talyors Velvet Falernum is masterfully produced and bottled by fourth generation owner of Foursquare Rum Distillery, Richard L. Seale (the only son of the only son of the only son of the distillery’s founder).

Seale, is one of the region’s most innovative distillers and blenders and has a passion for producing honest and perfect rum with amazing flavour.

The Foursquare Distillery occupies the site of a former sugar factory that dates back to 1636 and, as one of the most modern and efficient rum distilleries in the world, is designed to be both highly energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The distillery produces light rums in a three-column vacuum still and heavier rums in a modern pot still.
